What Is the DUTCH Hormone Test, and Why Do We Use It?

The DUTCH hormone test is the test we come back to again and again, because it gives us more than a standard blood test ever could.

It measures your sex hormones, oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone and DHEA, along with the metabolites they break down into. That matters because two women can have the same oestrogen level and process it in completely different ways, with very different effects on their body. The test also maps your cortisol pattern across the full day, so we can see how your stress hormones behave from morning to night rather than at one single moment.

This is a dried urine test you do at home, and it’s especially useful if you’re dealing with symptoms like fatigue, low mood, poor sleep, weight changes or cycle changes and haven’t had answers from standard testing.
